This is a two weekend workshop. Weekend one orients us to the concept and theory of compassion and weekend two provides the tools, meditations and practical applications of what we have learned. Scroll down to access dates, timing and pricing.
In an increasingly emotionally charged and divided world, the capacity to understand what compassion is, and cultivate it in an authentic way, without bypassing honest emotion, is an essential skill to develop. This workshop sits at the intersection of attachment theory, somatic integration therapy, yoga, buddhist meditation and cognitive science. This workshop will help guide you into learning not only about compassion, but how to create and sustain an inner harmony and coherence while the world around you shifts and polarizes in difficult times. What you learn can be applied to your family life, your workplace, your friendships and all your relationships - even your relationships to polarizing figures and events on the world stage. Now more than ever, inner calm through the outer storm is a skill that keeps us anchored in the present moment and grounded in resilience and helpful, meaningful action. You will learn about:
What compassion is
What the blocks to compassion are
How to address those blocks
Tools you can use each day to process the experiences you are having and world events that are occuring
How to cultivate compassion in a way that doesn’t bypass the challenges we face
What is suffering and what happens when suffering is more prevalent than harmony
How you can create inner coherence independent of external events while still participating in external events
Ancient wisdom teachings that are very relevant to today
The current research that suggests human beings ARE inherently good and cooperative by nature and how to tune into and operate from that place of care for yourself and others
How to be compassionate without experiencing compassion or caretaking fatigue
Tools to apply compassion to your daily life
